Contrast and coherence
A programme can reveal different kinds of listening: the independence of voices in counterpoint, the shape of a Classical movement, or the colour and scale of Romantic repertoire. Choose contrasts that express your strengths.

Clarity of interpretation
Work on phrasing, harmonic direction and structure so that a passage belongs to a larger argument. Voicing and pedalling help distinguish melody, bass and inner parts without losing the whole texture.
Reliable technical choices
Examine fingering and movement in difficult transitions, leaps or rapid passagework. Connect the physical approach to articulation and sound, then bring the passage back into its musical context.
Stage preparation
Move between detailed practice and complete performances. Preparation includes pacing, concentration, physical and mental readiness, and deciding where attention is most useful under performance conditions.

Begin early when repertoire choices or substantial technical work are still open. As the date approaches, clear priorities help balance unfinished passages with continuity and musical communication across the programme.
Lessons are available in Amsterdam and through online study. Intensive work can focus on a particular programme or deadline, with arrangements agreed individually. Admission, prizes and examination outcomes remain decisions of the relevant institutions and juries.
